It's 10's all the way now and this week we're on the dual with a reasonable forecast too, albeit with 36 hours to go.

Meet up at the Neath Canal Car Park in Resolven for signing on at between 18.15hrs and 18.45hrs for a prompt 19.00hrs start.

Remember, you have to be member of the PTW or a second-claim member of the PTW. There is no 'single race' fee - you have to join the club as a first-claim or second-claim member and joining on the night is no problem... unless you try to pay with a card ;)

A tough old night with a headwind out and a heavy downpour that brought the usual post-ride banter and analysis to an abrupt end.

Anyway, Gareth Davies got us underway with a new PB (not an easy task on a sticky night) but Big John was our first rider back and just five seconds off a PB himself whilst also giving those at the finish a useful shot of adrenalin. Blanco did his best time of the season which we'll call a PB in the absence of anything better lurking in the archives whilst Stephen Moore got his PTW career off to a fine start with a 26:53 on a road bike without aerobars.

Leaving the start line in a delicate cloud of Yves Saint Laurent (or possibly Fabreeze) was our two-up consisting of Shirley Howell and Sharon Hier (Team Shhhhhh from their initials) who knocked out a respectable 28:41 although they were shown a clean pair of heels cleats by Ellie Shaw of Backstedt and Hollie Labunsky wasn't that far off a seasons best on a tough night and is on course to secure a new PB on one of those float nights I keep promising you.

Karl Rees battled away to take one second off his PB but ahead of him we had no less than six riders with 22's with Nicky Morgan taking the 'man of the match' award with a 22:12 and rediscovering his form after tweaking his position on his new lo-pro. Mike Portlock survived a scary finish to finish third whilst Chris Jones took another well deserved win and I'm delighted to welcome him to the PTW. We just have to find out if he has an embarrassing middle name to use on the results so as to avoid future generations getting his times mixed up with those of our glorious chairman...

As always, thanks to Dai, Nigel and Will and also to John Edwards for umbrella support :P
