It needs to be announced,as Matt probably won't say himself, that he completed his hour record at the velodrome this evening. Amazing effort, determination and willpower shown tonight. I don't remember the exact number of laps or distance except it was a lot so rather than guess and not do him a justice i shall let him tell everyone when he see's this!
:-)
So who's next for the challenge....?!

40.490km in a pretty solid and well paced ride.
Well done Matt - it was a bold decision to go for this PTW hour record and let's hope it sparks interest.... but you'll always be the first! _______________ "The most important thing in life is not to have the most, but to need the least.” Plato (my favourite Disney character).

Thanks both, I know I'm a bit late to this!
In total I managed 161 complete laps plus 240 metres in the hour, which as Alf says is 40.490km
Even a week on, I don't have many words for the experience. It was very unpleasant. I think our PTW Bwlch hill climb event is quite pleasant by comparison. Joyful, even.
I am very grateful to all of those who stood at the side of the track cheering me on. Thank you all, your encouragement meant a lot to me

Well done Matt, even without "special wheels".I don,t think that it will be beaten by a club member in the near future!
