Denotes PB
A clash with an Open event tonight saw our lowest turnout of the season but 18 is not too shabby and we had a good night of racing despite a wind that was just doing a bit too much for PB's for everyone although a couple of riders did go forward. We welcomed two more second-claim members tonight, Gaynor Hughes (Bynea) who needs no introduction and young Ellie Shaw (Backstedt Hotchillee) whose legs will be doing the talking I'm sure!
Anyway, John Thomas got the event under way followed by the 'grudge match' between Hollie Labunsky and Dave Hendry. Despite being bribed with jelly babies from Dan Black, sadly I have to record that Dave won this and secured a PB too. I deliberately left some breathing space between our ladies tonight and there was a precious five seconds between Gaynor Hughes and Michelle Fishbourne with Michelle taking the ladies win and finishing off a fine week after scooping a couple of prize awards at the VTTA 10 last Saturday.
Comeback kid Bill Gannon started his season with a short 24 and John Deeley did a long 26 on his first serious ride after surgery - well done John, I hope you're not too sore. Chris Allen knocked out a seasons best 25:03 whilst Owain Roberts was just five seconds away from yet another PB. I'm pretty sure that Neil Seaward did get a PB with a 21:44 but Chris Jones took the win by a full minute with a 20:43 and has snatched back the top slot in the PTW club event rankings. Well done Chris.
Big thanks to Will for pushing off and to Nigel for admin support.
