Another cold night with a little rain to chill everyone down even further and whilst no one went forward from last week equally no one had a really poor ride with most falling back by a handful of seconds.
First rider off was John Thomas who went under evens but he's still yet to release his inner 'Tashkent Terror' sprint on us. We had another sedate finish from Paul Naysmith whilst Les Thomas and Hollie Labunsky were scrapping away so closely that you could have thrown a blanket over them at the finish. It would have been nice to have given Debbie Sheridan (our visiting guest rider from Warwickshire RC) a better night but this might actually have been good preparation for Sunday's weather - I sincerely hope not! Nadine continued her good, solid start to the season and took the ladies win with a '24' dead that promises a '22' on a float night.
The middle of the field saw a father and son battle with young Graham edging out old Tony (literally a relative term) whilst among our Abercynon visitors we saw a fast improving Neil Meredith overtake Gareth Hill to reverse last weeks result. Owain lost a few seconds from last week but on a moderately poor night this represents progress as witnessed by him moving from 10th last week to 6th this week on a same size field.
At the sharp end of the bike race our top 5 had an identical shape to last week but with Chris Jones holding his time of 21.22 from last week. Again, this means progress as most went backwards so well done Chris.
Great support on the night - thanks guys.
