A few people have said that they'd like to go to the Newport Velodrome to have a go. Just putting it out there so that everyone has a chance to get involved.

Who's interested?

Cheers both, right now it looks like Monday January 30th will be the best date for us. It's 4pm-5pm

Hi Matt, is this a coached session or a drop in session?

It's a coached session Pip so it'll be suitable for anyone (well, anyone Age 10 and over) who'd like to have a go.

We have got the track to ourselves for an hour on Monday January 30th at 4pm-5pm, bike hire is included and we'll each have a free pair of track mitts to keep. An experienced coach will teach us some skills and safety, and we will do a timed 250m lap so that we can see how much work we have to do before Tokyo 2020

There are 10 spaces in total and I have 8 names so far. The price is £15

That,s an excellent price Matt ,especially including bike hire and cost of the coach,my accreditation for the track has probable expired, along with any hope of Tokyo 2020!.Would be nice to get some of the youngsters involved ,Les in the loop?.If some of the youngsters want a go ,and you are oversubscribed ,I will bow out.

I understand that we have a few potential stars for the 2024 Olympics among our junior section!

Thanks to everyone for the support on this. I have 10 names for the first session and I wouldn't dream of seeing you bow out Pip!

You can either send me the money by Paypal (message me for address), down the club on Friday, on a Saturday club ride or at the club dinner. I'm happy to sort out a second for February (and a third and forth if we can fill them!), so keep adding your names. I'll get it sorted for you even if we don't get a full 10, I do need to get it booked this week though.

It occurs to me that not everyone has my phone number- I won't put that on the forum but my email address is mat.smith (at) outlook.com

Obviously remove the spaces and change (at) for @.. trying to avoid the spambots!

Not long to go until PTW hits the velodrome! Just a reminder that we have the track from 4-5pm next Monday (the 30th)

The bikes for the session are usually available from about 3:45, and they have a choice of either Look Keo pedals or pedals with straps suitable for trainers. I have asked, and no- you can't use your own pedals on the hire bikes.

Spectators are more than welcome too

Well I think everyone loved that! We finished up with a timed lap from a near standing start. If Alf was writing this he'd have something funny to say, but I don't. Sorry.

In reverse order for extra drama...
