I've seen two different versions of the weather for tomorrow (homepage is always different to Carol Kirkwood) but check with Behnaz or Derek tomorrow for an update.

We are coming to the end of a competitive club event season and there's not many more chances to really make your mark and/or set a benchmark for next season.

Meet up at the Neath Canal Car Park in Resolven for signing on from about 18.15hrs to 18.45hrs and an approximate 19.00hrs start. Please note that no one (not even John Willy with a top knot) will be allowed to sign on after 18.45hrs and it is important that the timekeeper is not disturbed or distracted after this time.

START on the factory service road at the Vale of Neath Enterprise Park and proceed eastwards along the service road to the Resolven Rbt taking the 1st exit Left and then smash it in a westerly direction along the A465 dual-carriageway.

Take the very 1st slip road off the dual-carriageway and bear left to climb up to the small Tonna Rbt (5.136 miles) taking the 1st exit Left to the large Aberdulais Interchange and circle the Rbt to take the 4th exit, descending the slip road to carefully re-join the A465 dual-carriageway going in an easterly direction.

Smash it eastwards to the Resolven Rbt (shut up legs) taking the 1st exit Left to finish just after the turning into the car park we meet up at.

22 GAYNOR HUGHES BYNEA 24:36
23 JOHN THOMAS PTW 27:44 7pts
24 WAYNE LEWIS PTW 30:55 6pts

Just look at all those PB's on one of those rare great evenings being warm and generally calm.

Dean Johnston was our first rider back and will shoot up the rankings after previously having a bit of a false ranking time from the back road. Our latest new member Wayne Lewis (Awen's Dad) had the misfortune of a slow rear wheel puncture but battled on to finish. Talking of Dad's, Owain Roberts showed everyone "Whose the Daddy" with a new PB of 24:26.

Our Bynea visitors, Gaynor and Brad, spurred each other on with Brad getting a PB and also edging out Nadine by a few 1/100ths but Nadine's not too bothered after getting a PB of her own. Our two young riders also did PB's with Jack Lee getting 23:37 and Morgan Ley getting a 23:31 but Jack might still have to wait for a TT bike as Dad has enough competition from an improving Mark Andrews.

At the sharp end of the bike race, Matt Smith abandoned the long socks and chopped down his previous PB to a 22:04 so will try no socks next week. Supervet Stu knocked out a personal course record (hope I got that right) whilst Rod Hicks snuck into '20' land with a genuine 20:59 (definitely not a timekeeper's gift) and a new PB leaving Chris Jones to take another win with a 20:41.

A great night's racing and big thanks to John Williams for pushing off and to Nigel Jones for admin support and second timekeeper duties. Sometimes with 24 riders we can get away with one timekeeper but you were all so fast tonight that it was a good job we had two!

Alf, you're doing a sterling job keeping up with all of this. 13 PB's.

Personally, I spent last Thursday in Greenwood Forest Park queuing. That's holidays for you.
