Today was the Welsh 10 mile TT championship so a few of us went east to Abergavenny. With 200 or so entries in total it was a big event!
I got to that start line without much time to spare so was fairly well warmed up! It was quite warm with a light breeze at the start line so I was very hopeful that it would be a fast day. 7 miles in it was going well- I just had to stay over 30mph to the end and I'd record my first 21 minute '10'.
Unfortunately for me as I went around a bend the tailwind became a firm headwind and I kissed goodbye to a 21! Happy enough with a 22:30 though
Congratulations are in order though for our Championship medal winner Stuart Evans whose 22:35 was just enough to win a very close battle to be the fastest vet on standard!
Rod Hicks was impressive as ever with a 21:34
Kieron Davies won the event with a new Welsh record of 18:34
