Dull and dry...

But that's enough about me. The weather is looking a bit overcast tomorrow but it should remain dry and the wind looks as if it should behave itself so I wouldn't rule out PB's for our newer riders.

Meet up at the Neath Canal Car Park in Resolven for signing on from about 18.15hrs to 18.45hrs and an approximate 19.00hrs start. Please note that no one (not even Tom Daly in his Speedos*) will be allowed to sign on after 18.45hrs and it is important that the timekeeper is not disturbed or distracted after this time.

START on the factory service road at the Vale of Neath Enterprise Park and proceed eastwards along the service road to the Resolven Rbt taking the 1st exit Left and then smash it in a westerly direction along the A465 dual-carriageway.

Take the very 1st slip road off the dual-carriageway and bear left to climb up to the small Tonna Rbt (5.136 miles) taking the 1st exit Left to the large Aberdulais Interchange and circle the Rbt to take the 4th exit, descending the slip road to carefully re-join the A465 dual-carriageway going in an easterly direction.

Smash it eastwards to the Resolven Rbt (shut up legs) taking the 1st exit Left to finish just after the turning into the car park we meet up at.

* I've got more material in my shirt collar.

A bit of a stiff headwind to the turn made it a less than ideal night but still an excellent work-out for those riding the Welsh Champs on Sunday.

John Deeley rocked up on a hand-painted fixed wheel complete with Hammerite paint runs in a colour called 'Crowley White' (bang on trend) whilst new member Darren Griffiths rode well in his first Club 10 and now has a target for future weeks. Our visiting lady riders, Michelle Robertson and Gaynor Hughes had a battle royale with just four seconds separating them (this after a steward's enquiry).

Young Jack Lee rode his first event with us since he broke his left arm and is now just two minutes off his Dad's time so look out Chris! In the middle of the starting order we had good rides from last weeks new members with Neil Seaward getting into the Top 10 with a 23:39 and Chris Stevens was only a few seconds further back with a 23:50 - there's loads more to come from both of them that's for sure.

'Longsocks' had a wretched start having to give way at the first rbt to a string of traffic but then channelled his inner rage into a competitive ride getting ever so close to 'Supervet Stu' who may (or may not) have been holding something back for Sunday. And it was close at the very top too with just 28 seconds covering the first four riders with, perhaps, Lloyd Morgan doing the ride of the night to finish just six seconds away from the win but that honour fell to Chris Jones who might just be on his way back.

Anyway, good luck to all who are riding the Welsh Champs 10.

Big thanks to Will for pushing off and to Nigel Jones for admin support and then sending off the last eight riders.
