IMPORTANT!

The Port Talbot Wheelers can no longer offer informal entry on the line on our Thursday night club events and entry is now restricted to PTW Club Members and second-claim club members.

Meet up at the Neath Canal Car Park in Resolven for signing on from about 18.15hrs to 18.45hrs and an approximate 19.00hrs start. No one will be allowed to sign on after 18.45hrs and it is important that the timekeeper is not disturbed or distracted after this time.

Those riders starting early are kindly asked to refrain from distracting the timekeeper at the finish line and to not drive out of the car park until all competitors have finished.

Thank You ;)

As per Alfs note above, we have just had a committee meeting and following the difficulties that Alf experienced last week in trying to take money, set the field, fend off Irate drivers, and get items back to people who wanted to leave before he had finished timing. We have made the decision that for the forseeable future we will only take entries from fully paid up club members (First or second claim).

For those who dont know what second claim membership means, its when you race for one club but are also member of a second club to allow you to ride club events. so joining will not jeopardise your member to you home club.

This does not affect you being able to join on the night but please bring a form which is downloadable from this Web Site at http://www.porttalbotwheelers.co.uk/node/363 and the subscription fee £20 (its cheaper than riding 7 events so well worth it)

Also once again to reiterate Alfs point to ease the timekeepers we ask the following.
- We recommend that you carry a light as if we get high numbers again it may get dark.
- Please shout your number out as you finish,
- try not to interupt the timekeeper for times etc. until he has finished timekeeping.
- and try not to leave the car park until the last rider is home, youve recorded your time so lets make sure all riders ahave the best crack at theirs.

On behalf of the committee, thanks in advance

PORT TALBOT WHEELERS – CLUB EVENT 28/04/16 – COURSE: R10/22A

Well, either I'm bonkers or you riders are bonkers because it was a truly horrible night and I can't believe how you all gritted your teeth and knocked out some tidy times. What is for sure is that our two young riders Eden Rae Davies and Alex Thomas will probably never ride in anything so bad again and I truly hope the bone-chilling wind and rain haven't put you off. Well done to you both!

And a big well done to James 'Tank' Lewis for pulling out one helluva ride in such poor conditions. It's tantalising to think about what the same ride would equate to on a warm 'float' night...

Many thanks to Will for pushing off a few riders and then roaring down to the turn as we had a few newcomers who were a bit shaky about the course but are fine now and can't wait to do it again. Thanks also to Nigel Jones who took over the pushing off duties and also to Ray Matthews, Pip and CJ for support. Thanks guys!

Amazing time and particularly amazing wattage from Tank. Wonder what could be no longer Alf- On a warm windless day in late summer with a little bit of traffic to help and a skinsuit instead of a draggy jersey, that ride could be an 18:57.

Y'know.. give or take a second or two.. :D
