Chapeaux to all the riders that completed the Prostate charity ride that followed the route of the old 5 valleys road race circuit today. It was great to see so many Port Talbot Jerseys completing both the long route 74 miles and the short route 51 miles.
It was great to see the all the slow group make it round in a respectable sub 4 hours and proving in the process that lycra is indeed a very Tensile resistant material....... Got to say that some big guys got up the climbs today.
Here is the slower group Taking in the sites of Cymmer Afan whilst regrouping following the Bwlch decent.
Just for info, As the next two weeks involve some big events each sunday, I will be leading the Ramblers ride to Bryngarw Café for the next two Saturdays, leaving the Plaza at 10:30, heading to Pyle, Court Colman, Penyfai and Bryncethin. Return Via Parc Slip and Penybryn

Congratulations to John Pritchard and his team for putting on a successful event for the charity , riders started were in the region of at 145,which i think for the inaugural event was quite a number , even the weather played it,s part in being fine . Just to reiterate what our club secretary said ,it was a pleasure to see so many club members out to support the charity on both routes,as well as support from a current World Track Champion and record holder. WELL DONE PRITCH and TEAM.

A big thank you to all PTW riders who took part today. The charity collected approx £1000 in cash today and with others to pledge online the charity are hoping to pass the £3000 target set. So if you haven't sent the money in yet please do and you can go to the justgiving website to find out.
thanks one and all

Well!, I've just woke up. The legs are shot to bits, but what a fantastic day in the saddle in equally fab company. Going over Stormy and the fast boys and girls clipped off the front, I tried to take the ramblers across only to hear a voice shout, single out!, oh, sorry Kev you are. . Anyway Les managed to get across to me and we split the group on the freewheel decent to the roundabout, as I said to Les, the worrying fact is the rest of the group had to peddle . Anyway I won't bore you with the rest of the ride because as numbers showed, most of the PTWCC membership were in attendance, what a turn out!. I had plenty of encouragement up the climbs and managed a few words with people I ain't seen for a long time. What a day!. A big well done to Pritch and the team and Well done to all who supported the ride.

My thanks to the technical support, who helped me sort out the puncture of my worn out rear tyre. Fortunately I got it just as I was turning into Margam East, so I didn't have to walk too far. I found the climb up Stormy quite easy, but then I was in the back seat of an Audi.
Apologies to all who had to look at my backside all day through my worn out shorts. Well, it was a Prostate ride. I was just trying to give everyone the best view.
And finally what a great sight it was to see all the clubs together, just riding. I can't think of another occasion quite like it. I can see it being quite popular next year. _______________ Electric bikes are great. They give ordinary people the chance to know what it feels like to be me.

Great days riding with fantastic company until my handlebars slipped on summit of Bwlch Pass (Thanks Pip for pointing it out) descending off the Rhigos (now that was interesting, especially when trying to find brake levers)... was I glad to see Glynneath.
Just want to Congratulate Mr Pritchard for an outstanding day, let's hope there's a few more in the bag....Job very well done Sir.
