There I was late!. so late in fact I was putting air in me tyres the same time as Richard G was doing the same to his. Anyway, off I went only to arrive at the Plaza at 9.37 and there was the ramblers, GONE!. right nothing for it head down, proverbial up,( I laughed at that myself, after only 7 times out on the bike for 2yrs). Going through Taibach, a ptwcc jersey coming tuther way, are they up the road I shout!, Oh!, are they he shouted back and carried on his way. Delemer, have they gone this way?, where did that fella come from not to have seen them?. Up the tump towards bevington, Any cyclists up the road fella?, Yep, was the reply, just gone past the Porthcawl turn, Thank you! was my retort.
Right come on fatboy, a bit of effort. out of the dip, there they are going over the brow, the chase was back on, down past the travellers camp, just before the bridge a fella collecting blackberries, excuse me says I, have you seen a bunch of cyclists, oh yes, say he, they just went up the lanes. Now remembering George telling me of a cycle path going up the valley, and Les saying they were picking up a cycle path somewhere, I decided to try and find it and there it was after to wrong lefts. So off to go, a mile or so along pedestrians, Morning!, have a bunch of cyclists gone by, wouldn't say a bunch says he, maybe 3 or 4. O.K. thanks says I, thinking, not many out today, then. Right, on to Bryngarw. lovely bowl along the cycle path, came out (not in that respect, Alf) in Tondu, near Lidl and onto Bryngarw country park. No sign of the ramblers, so thought, ummm!, did Les say Bleangarw, so out of the park and onto the Bleangarw road, 100 yards and the realisation I had to get home, I turned and headed back. The same route until Margam Crem, then I noticed the new bypass open and decided to give it a whirl, BIG mistake on tired legs into a head wind with no shelter what so ever. Glad to get home today and sorry to have missed the ramblers. I'll be sure to be on time next week and retrieve some phone numbers in case I'm late in the future.

I think we waited until 09.32hrs (approx) but someone mentioned you might have been doing archery.
Well, one way or another, you certainly had an 'arrowing' experience... _______________ "The most important thing in life is not to have the most, but to need the least.” Plato (my favourite Disney character).

Who ever it was, they were right in mentioning the archery. I did mention it myself last week, but I've got the cycling bug again and feel much better for it. being late combined with the fact my phone died a few months back and I lost 40 something contacts, yours, Gareth's and les's included didn't help my situation, anyway seems I was chasing shadows for the greater part of my ride, but It didn't spoil a thing, thoroughly enjoyed, but did miss the company. Longest ride so far 39 miles .

I got a TT bike I'm not using much, you can borrow it if you want to put in that kind of effort LOL.
For info my number is 07976 601218. and forget my post on a previous thread. Yes, sounds like you found the board walk... The bit that gets me is we were in the Bryngarw Café until 12:00 so not sure how you missed us there....... Were you really at Bryngarw Café or have you found another hostelry..... The plot thickens...
