I've been with beloved club now about 15 yrs plus if not more . I've seen greats come & go ,I've lost some great friends also. I get the gut feeling our club is slipping away , word on the grape vine is .. Bynea & Swansea wheelers , although in numbers may not be as strong as us ,but there weekend club runs , apparentl are awesome !! Now I know I'm aving a rant , but I work most Saturdays so I can't make them all . As for Sunday rides I remember being out all day , with the likes of selwyn at al . Those days alas some to gone!!! I'm sorry my friends , I don't post much on our forum but when I do I hope it's worth while! at the end of the day I've met & sadly lost some great friends through ptwcc !!

Aw, you're making me feel bad now. Is it too early to set New Year's resolutions? Must go on more club runs :)

Seriously, though, Selwyn's still there. We can all ride with him any time we like. Make the most of it.

Whilst we're on the subject of revitalising the club, how about we organise a Club Tour for this time next year? Or (more ambitiously) for September this year? Just 3 or four days, over a weekend. Destination suggestions welcome.

AFAIK both clubs have more members than us and do seem to be in the ascendancy. Not that long ago those same clubs were probably envious of us but these things do go in cycles (excuse the pun) and I feel we should all work together to get our club back up there.

The acid test will be the AGM. We can be satisfied to be a dwindling bunch of riders meeting up at the Plaza or turn up, stand up and put our hands up to do the jobs and tasks that all clubs must do to "promote the sport and pastime of cycling" - Club Rule No.1 (1926).

If anyone would like to make a special effort on Sunday 1st of Sept - the club run will be following the five valleys road race circuit. This is a ride being organised in aid of Prostatecymru and is a trial for an official event to be run next year.
As most of you know Pritch is just recovering from a prostate operation and it would be great if everyone from the PTWCC could make a big effort to come along to ride and contribute anything you can towards this worthwhile cause. It would also be an opportunity meet up with fellow club members we haven't seen for a while. There are two routes available - long and a shorter one !.
SUNDAY 1ST SEPT - put it in your diary and make the effort to increase our dwindling numbers. All the other clubs in the five valley area have been given the same invite to ride.

Andy - thinking about it, I remember you on Will's 1995 Tour de France trip (Big Mig's last win) so you've been with us for at least 18 years. C'mon! Make it 20 before you make a rash decision!
