Hi Guys,
For all those interested in riding with the club but are afraid the pace may be too high. Or for those that feel the club runs can be a little too hard for their current condition (Alf This means You... LOL). We are starting Ramblers ride each Sunday leaving the Plaza at 10:00
I will be leading the rides with the pace being strictly as fast as the slowest rider. As these will be predominantly on the open road I would suggest road bikes or Hybrids will be most suitable and my guess is that the distance we'll ever go is a round trip of around 40 - 50 Miles.
Attendance will count towards club run points and maybe, as this will be a social ride, we could even visit local points of interest rather than the traditional café stops.
All that will be decided dependant on interest but to for the first ride on August 11th I thought we'd start by visiting the Glyncorrwg Ponds and Cycle centre. The route is almost entirely a tarmac cycle path (so it won't matter what kind of bike you have) and the entire trip will be around 22 miles .
Look forward to seeing you there
Les

And for anyone else who might like a gentle ride, the Gower Cycling Festival runs from 10th to 18th August. I am marshalling on rides:
- Number 7 (Monday 12th August, 10am, Sail Bridge, 22 miles to Ynysmeudwy) and
- Number 18 (Friday 16th August, 10am, Railway Inn, 42 miles to Swiss Valley)
although other rides are available, and your mileage may vary. For more details please use the browser currently in front of your face. _______________ Electric bikes are great. They give ordinary people the chance to know what it feels like to be me.

Well my prayers for inclement weather went unanswered and I had to go
A great ride with great company. Thanks for the encouragement Les, it was just what I needed. _______________ "The most important thing in life is not to have the most, but to need the least.” Plato (my favourite Disney character).

I'd just like to echo the words of the previous texter, except the bit about the weather, I was going out what ever (I've made far too many excuses over the last 4 years). Bumped into the faithful on Sat and Les mentioned the Ramblers ride, That's for me I thunk!, so I dragged all 17.2 stone of me down the garage for the second day running and off to go. Bumped into Richard out on the pavement, catch you up! he said. But he must have punctured, coz he didn't catch me . I havn't forgotten the club sentiment, Yes, I know I'll pay for that last wise crack . Anyway, the bugs coming back, 3 rides in three days, a grand total of 78 miles. Thanks for the encouragement Les, CJ and Selwyn. See you next week Alf?.
