PTW

When i took over as club Captain i was hoping that club rides would be reasonably well attended. We are always boasting about the membership of the club however, on average we have about 10 to 12 riders turning up on a Sunday and even though i try to plan a variety of routes there is absolutely no point in continuing this practice. In the last 2 weeks half the club run went to the Mumbles when the main club run was heading around the Gower and 2 riders who were far less fit than others on the ride managed to complete the ride. This Sundays ride 21st was even better 11 riders including myself started on what was going to be a 45 mile ride eventually heading for Ewenny cafe and by the time we got to Tondu lights only myself and another rider were actually going to carry on and do the planned ride at this point we had only covered 11 miles and everybody else went to Ewenny Cafe due to other interests i.e. track meetings etc. So next weekend and every other Sunday those of you who want to go out meet at the Plaza at 10 a.m. and go where you want.

It must be frustrating mate. I think other previous club captains had the same problem including myself. Have a chat with Chips. Hope you dont pack it in. I hear a lot of compliments about the great job you have been doing. see you Friday. we could all have a chat about this problem around a table and a cuppa.

Dai I'm sorry you're not getting the support. Paul's not joshing.... you have done a good job! I'm hoping to get out on a regular basis as soon as possible.

Welcome to the reality of club runs ! This is something I had to endure right through the years I was captain and previous captains before me !!!
Come to think of it one of the worst culprits isn't a million miles away from this thread !!!

Phone me tomorrow Dave and maybe we can catch a cuppa to discuss the issue.

Plus Dave organises some cracking rides.
