Hi all,
Myself & Claire are heading off to France next month, we will be around the Alpe d huez area for 5 days.

I know lots of you have ridden in or around that area & was wondering if you had any "must do's" (apart from the obvious! Lol)

Cheers
Dai & Claire

guys, I stayed in Les duex alpes for 5 weeks which is between alpe d'huez and the galibier quite a few years ago From where you are, head for bourg d'Oisons (forgive the spelling - its been a while) basically at the bottom of les duex alpes theres a big lake - go straight on and your climbing the col de lataret. get to the top you can continue up the galibier. go straight over you go to Briancon 49k down hill! Turn right at the lake you go up les duex alpes - 9k climb.
go back down the valley for 25k and turn right - over the railway crossing and your on alpe d'huez! 14k of pain. I rode them all plus a few more for 5 weeks and never got bored! PS my smallest gear was 39x 21!!!!!!!
you'll love it
