Event No.2 saw 11 riders take to the start line and it was great to see Spot ride around ahead of the race. CJ made a huge leap forward taking four minutes off his PB for another "top ten finish" (lol) and Julian Brock set a marker for future weeks. Martin Richards managed to stay on board after a nasty front wheel puncture on the approach to the finish line and the puncture fairy also visited Clayton Tolland - better luck next time guys.
Dai Lloyd rolled back the years with a solid ride to finish 6th and his disappointment at not cracking the '30' barrier shows there's more to come. Matt Jones probably knows the course better than anyone and his reward for all those practice runs was a well deserved third place. The Bonner family had mixed fortunes with Gareth finishing 8th on debut whilst Cam took almost two minutes off his time from last week to take second. Mike Hall and Romain Sacre had to be separated by hundreths of a second with Mike claiming 4th.
Graham Rogerson demolished my opinion that a MTB is the weapon of choice for this course by switching to a gravel bike this week and knocking a minute off his PB and setting a new course record. Well done everyone.
Special thanks to Emma, Louise, JD, Shirley and Will for their help on the day. Oh, and good luck to the PTW Crossers for tomorrow!
