Sunny with a gentle breeze (8mph) - Race Time Temp 17°C

For our final visit to the dual this season (well, at least for club events) we have a really good weather forecast with only the temperature letting the side down but after the summer we've had we'll take that!

We meet up at the Neath Canal Car Park in Resolven for signing on from about 18.15hrs and closing at 18.45hrs for a prompt 19.00hrs race start.

RC10/22R Course Description

START on the Vale of Neath Supplier Estate service road opposite Lamp Post No. 18. Proceed eastwards along the service road to the Resolven Roundabout (0.458 miles). (Safety Notice:- Do not cross the centre line of the road on the right hand bend). Take the 1st exit left along A465 dual carriageway westbound to the 1st exit left (4.862 miles). Continue up the loop to the small Tonna Roundabout where take the 1st exit to the large Aberdulais Interchange. Take the 4th exit (5.505 miles) to proceed down the slip road to re-join A465 dual carriageway. Proceed eastbound to the Resolven Roundabout where take 1st exit left to FINISH at the access road to the Canal Car Park on the cross-valley link road (10.006 miles).

There was a slight touch of Autumn tonight but all things considered it was pretty good weather really with just a bit of a headwind down to the turn. Bill 'Fernando' Gannon made his long awaited return and did well as did Neil Gregory who was throttling back a bit ready for his debut 12-hour on Sunday. Graham and Clinton had a good scrap for second but once again Rob Jones left everyone in his wake to take the win.

For this weeks Alfie's MOTM I'm going 'trier' not 'flier' and awarding it to Wayne Davies for a very good road bike ride that typified his improvements over the season. I'm pretty sure it's a PB for Wayne as well.

It was nice to see John Aspell at the event tonight and he's hoping to start an open event before the season closes. As always, thanks to Will and Dai for their usual good work and also to John Shehan and JD & Joan for marshalling.
