"Sunny intervals with a fresh breeze" - Race time temp 18C.

The recent showery weather should have passed by Thursday and it looks so much fresher too. That breeze probably means PB's and SB's will be in short supply though.

The essentials;

1. We meet up at the Neath Canal Car Park in Resolven for signing on from about 18.00hrs and closing at 18.45hrs for a prompt 19.00hrs race start.

2. You have to be member of the PTW or a second-claim member of the PTW. There is no 'single race' fee - you have to join the club as a first-claim or second-claim member.

Well the rain just about kept off last night with just a few picks towards the end but it was a bit on the chilly side. Emma Davies got us underway and was down on time compared to recent weeks but our first rider back was Stephan Wilcox who has put down a marker for himself on the DC course as did Ffion Davies who pulled away from the start line quite impressively. On a less than perfect night John Shehan got to within 18 seconds of a SB and seems to have momentum now as does Hollie Labunsky who was 16 seconds off a SB. Continuing the trend was Clinton Evans who was an even closer 11 seconds away from matching his SB to finish 4th.

Absolutely mangling his PTW SB was Dylan Sage and his 22:03 took him to 2nd place on the night - hugely impressive! It was great to welcome Brad Davies back to our club events and Brad's 24:43 was competitive within our very competitive midfield whilst Tony 'The Tiger' Howell was 7 seconds behind Brad on his first solo outing of the season on the DC. Les Thomas and Mike Broadbent are almost joined at the hip in terms of time this year and it was close again this week with Les recording a 24:33 to finish 7th whilst Mike finished 6th with a 24:26. John Aspell finished 5th with a 24:08 to take the midfield win and got a fair bit closer to his SB than the other midfielders.

We haven't seen Dan O'Connor for a few weeks now and on his first ride on the DC this season he recorded 22:53 to finish 3rd and can shoot for a '21' during August. That just leaves Neil Seaward whose 21:25 took the win and is perhaps a good barometer of the night's conditions being 19 seconds off his SB. Well done Neil.

Unsurprisingly, Alfie's 'man of the match' award goes to Dylan Sage - it really was a cracking ride. We're on the back road next week for our final visit to our newish 13 course and your homework this week is to look up your SB and PB for this course and set yourself a target for next week!

BTW there are a couple of you (and in one case, three of you) all tied dead level on points in the Club Events Point Table. Get it sorted please!
