Don't forget, we don't meet at Resolven for the 25's. Instead, we meet at the lay-by at the far end of Glynneath (go straight past the McDonalds roundabout, staying on the A465 and then take the first exit off) and please sign on at between 18.30hrs and 18.45hrs for a prompt 19.00hrs start outside The New Inn, Rhigos. Enjoy the warm-up
Start on the unclassified “Old Neath Bank†road at Cefn Rhigos village approx 26 yrds west of electricity pole No B29016. Proceed east to the former Tower Colliery rbt at the junction with the A4061 and take the 2nd exit (straight on) to the A465 rbt taking the 1st exit (left). Proceed west along the A465 dual-carriageway to the Blaengwrach rbt taking the 2nd exit (straight on) to the Resolven rbt taking the 2nd exit (straight on) to continue on the A465 dual-carriageway to the first junction left signed A4109. Bear left to take the slip-road off and curve up and around the loop to the small Tonna rbt taking the 1st exit (left) to the Aberdulais rbt. Circle the Aberdulais rbt to take the 4th exit and proceed down the slip-road with care to rejoin the A465 dual-carriageway. Retrace along the A465 dual-carriageway to the Resolven rbt taking the 2nd exit (straight on) continuing on to the Blaengwrach rbt taking the 2nd exit (straight on). Continue on the A465 dual-carriageway to take the first junction left descending the slip road to finish at the centre of the first drain on the left after crossing the 2nd river bridge.(25.014 miles)
This next bit is important - please do not urinate near the start or anywhere within view of the good residents of Rhigos. Someone did last year on a PTW club event and a local resident took great delight in reporting that person to me whilst I was sending the riders off. Use the facilities at Resolven and ride up or drive up.
Please don't be the person who loses us this course!
Apologies for the tone but it really is a serious issue and a constant item on the district agenda.
