It's the double hill climb weekend!
Just a quick reminder folks that this weekend (October 10th and 11th) sees our double hill climb weekend to decide who will become the 2015 Club Hill Climb Champion.
On Saturday, we have the short, sharp Norton Hill Climb whilst on Sunday we have the long grinding ascent of the Bwlch.
Points will be awarded in each event and the rider with the most points over the two events wins. Simples.
The Saturday and Sunday club rides will both start at 10.00hrs and go straight to the hill climb courses for an approximate 11.00hrs start. These are official club events and competitors must sign on and must wear race numbers.
I have two watches synchronised but I will need a second timekeeper please! _______________ "The most important thing in life is not to have the most, but to need the least.” Plato (my favourite Disney character).

Thanks for all the people turning up to cheer us on and of course to everyone else involved. It is appreciated.
I was a whole ten seconds down on last year. I don't think my strategy of not going so fast on the initial easy bit to save some for the steep bit quite worked out as planned.
I think it was better last year not having a clue beforehand how steep it actually is.

I don't know whether "enjoyed" is the right word. I didn't find the completely useless and empty feeling in my legs on the second part of Norton particularly pleasurable, nor did I relish the 11 minutes of my legs screaming "make it stop" while climbing the Bwlch with that headwind. But with Alf being on the stopwatch, as ever, I'm sure it spurred us all on to dig that little bit deeper than we thought we could. So thanks again Alf, and thanks to all who cheered us on. The encouragement was very much appreciated and the atmosphere did make it an enjoyable weekend.
I can't help but wonder what visiting aliens would have thought of our species if they'd happened to land at the finish line, mind.

Really gutted I couldn't make it. Horrific cold all week meant I couldn't climb a railway bridge this weekend. Sounds like you had a good time though. Profi _______________ The Force is strong in this one...
