Whether the weather be fine or whether the weather be not, we’ll weather the weather, whatever the weather, whether we like it or not…… Unless of Course You Come from Neath……… ;) Just saying….. That’s all……

Well on Sunday the Weather man promised wet and windy conditions, some hardy souls turned up for the ramblers ride and fortunately the Forecast was WRONG!!!! Yippeee!!! :P

Now we waited for the Neath Chapter but none came. Peter Jones Came from Pontardawe, so the A465 was fine, Mark Thomas Came from Briton Ferry so that road was fine….. Kevin Rattenbury turned up with a dodgy front wheel showing that technical adversity could be over come….. But No Neath Chapter……We Waited…. But there they were GONE! Obviously the Gnoll has gone soft and John Willy and Co have become Fair weather cyclists…. Sad day, Sad day… LOL 8)

Anyway the afore mentioned souls were joined by myself, Phil and Helen Collier, Mark their friend, El Presedente Judge Crowley, Little John and Bevan Hulse, Off we went and gently made our way to Kenfig Hill, Laleston, Merthyr Mawr, St Brides, Wick Marcross and St Donats before arriving at the Café Velo, llantwit.

Great little café this and think everyone found the service and prices to their liking. It was also nice to have a bit of banter with the Cardiff Ajax riders that were there so all in all a very enjoyable experience. :D

We hadn’t been there too long when the fast group turned up, Spot, Selwyn and Andy Lewis were soon tucking into coffee and Toasted tea cakes.

The return journey was a nice ride with lots of chatting until I left and headed to Porthcawl after which All Hell Broke Loose. First of all El Presidente’s saddle decided to self destruct and then there was an assassination attempt and he was involved in a collision with a car. I cant leave them for 5 minutes.....

Fortunately he appears ok apart from some cuts and bruises but it just goes to show how careful you have to be.

Next week I can’t be here so Kevin Rattenbury will be leaving the plaza at 9:30 with the plan of heading to Neath and meeting up with the Neath Chapter (Hope it’s not raining) and heading up to a Café that John Willy knows in the wilds of Banwen. ;)

I’m sure Spot knows a lovely route that will soften the fast group up just right for the gentle return journey LOL

Have a good ride guys and I want to hear all about it when I get Back
