The Slower group left the Plaza at 9:30 as promised and made their way to Mumbles. At Briton Ferry we were joined by the Neath Chapter who showed as a superb route behind the Amazon depot which provides a traffic free route from Jersey marine roundabout to Gower Chemicals.
Keeping to the cycle path we went through the docks and along the see front where we came upon a little sand..........
Rumour has it that the amount of sand we had to dredge through reminded Colin of manoeuvres in the desert during the WAR!
He got a little tired and Tony, Willy Colin and Dai trigs stopped at the first Café whilst the rest of us headed for the Pier Café. It was either this or as we had just been joined by Tudor Thomas Of Bynea CC, Both willy and Colin feared that Tudor may get his watch out................. Meanwhile the Faster Group (who seemed once again to Miss Andy Lewis at Swansea) decided That Pembray was just to flat for the three boys out so they decided to do the "The Mayals and a bit of the Gower" before heading for the Pier Café as well. They still managed to get to the Café before the slow group but this was because they hadn't been climbing Dunes to get there.
With some appropriate banter at the Café, It was obvious that young steve Williams was too eager to sit still, The solution was soon in place and it was suggested that he burn up some excess energy by sprinting up the steep climb out of the pier car park. Obliging to a fault as ever, off he went as we all looked on thinking of times gone by when we had energy to burn.....
.After a nice rest we all enjoyed a nice amble back.
