Hi Everyone,

I'm currently on my last placement as a student social worker in Powys county council. On the 15th March I'm doing a 100 mile charity ride for comic relief with four colleagues which will see us cover the length of the authority; that is Welshpool to Ystradgynlais. I now most of you won't see that as very physically demanding for a cyclist and you'd be right, for me personally riding 100 miles isn't that big a deal. However, the people I'm riding with aren't big cyclists and for them it's going to be a huge achievement so I'm doing it primarily to support them. We've currently raised about 1200 pound as a team and I've raised about 200 quid (including online and offline) personally.

I'm going to be wearing my PTW kit on the day and as this ride is going to be heavily publicised within Powys and possibly further afield (the bbc have been contacted) I'm hoping that this will give the club some good exposure.

I'd be very very grateful if anyone would take the time out to donate some money online. It's very easy to do if you click on the link below. It's all for a good cause which I'm sure you're all familiar with and it's not often any of us get a chance to make some money for charity simply by riding our bikes.

Thanks
Jamie

Since posting on this thread I've had

£10 off Kevin Jones
£10 off Alf Williams
£10 off Peter Jones
£15 off Bill Gannon
2 x £10 off anonymous people who I'm assuming are club members that didn't put their name in given the comments (anyone want to claim them?)

I'm chuffed to bits with that so thank you everyone. We've had confirmation that the BBC are going to be involved; we're definitely going to be on the website and facebook page. Their coming to take pictures and there's a possibility that we will be on the comic relief show in some capacity so the PTW kit will definitely get some exposure out of it.

Again, thanks to everyone who has donated so far :-)
