Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that there is a new report for the Celtic Series on the website http://www.celticseries.co.uk/ (see a copy below). Hopefully things are shaping up well for your event in July (the last one in the series).

Becky :)

The third event in the Celtic Series saw 26 riders line up on a sunny Tuesday evening to ride the Pembrokeshire Velo’s 10 mile time trial on the R10/4. The event was won by Kieron Davies who smashed the course record by nearly 30 seconds. Full results can be found here http://www.celticseries.co.uk/index.php/results/95-results-from-the-pembs-velo-10-29-5-12.

The series standings have been calculated and can be viewed here http://www.celticseries.co.uk/index.php/results/92-celtic-series-individual-and-team-points

After the third event in the Celtic Series Cardiff Ajax are still leading the Overall Team Award with the Jif, the Paragons and Bynea all chasing from behind.

The Fastest Five Award is hotting up with the Paragons overtaking Ajax to take the lead by nearly 200 points. Ajax have dropped to third place and Bynea have jumped to second place. However, with Jif lying in 4th and with the upcoming Ogmore Valley Wheelers event and the Cwmcarn Paragon’s event in the next couple of weeks on courses local to the leading clubs all is to play for!

There is no change to the top 3 in the Male Senior category with Luke Dix, Russell White and Gareth Rees taking the top spots. Kieron Davies makes a jump to 4th place whilst Anthony Jones takes 5th. Cardiff Ajax’s Justin Parker was a DNS (apols) for the event and falls from 4th to 6th spot.

Nia James retains her lead in the Lady’s Competition where there was no change in the overall standings after the third event. Second place is held by Katie Williams and 3rd by Alexis Tarrant all riders for Cardiff Ajax.

Three Male Juniors lined up for the Pembs Velo event where Joseph Wiltshire took 3rd Junior and is now leading his category with 355 points, a clear lead over joint second placed riders Scott Davies and Daniel Colman who both have 120 points.

The Female Juvenile Series Standings has two leaders, Bethan Manley of Cardiff Jif who won the first event in the series and Manon Lloyd of Towy Riders who won the Pembs Velo event. Manon’s superb ride of 26.53 made her the clear female winner of the Pembs Velo event.

There were entries for the Male Juvenile or Female Junior categories so the series standings for these categories remain unchanged.

The next event in the Celtic Series is on the R10/9, promoted by Ogmore Valley wheelers on Tuesday 12th June. Entries have now closed for this event and the start sheet should appear on this website shortly.

There is still time to get your entries in for the 5th event in the series held on the R10/16A and promoted by Cwmcarn Paragon on Tuesday 19th June. This is a great chance to see how you have improved since the last event held on this course in March.
