We all know there are a few little differences between the humble, friendly ramblers' ride, and the elitist, lactic acid big boys' club ride (BBCR). Now, I'm not biased but one of them is standards! It was obvious at the Plaza this morning, that one of the BBCR would not have passed the ramblers' 'Carlsberg Test' (Probably the best test in the world). I'm not going to mention any names but you could 'Spot the rider' a mile away (About the same distance between the front and last rider on the BBCR

). Suffice to say that he wouldn't have been invited on the ramblers' ride! We already have a candidate for next year's 'Ale award' which was only presented less than 12hrs before!
Anyway, six (Sober) ramblers left the Plaza at ten, in dry but murky weather. The jolly band of riders consisted of Dai Triggs, Kev Rattenbury, Kara, Mike, Will and me. We were joined by Jez at Margam. We made our way to the 'Rest Bay' cafe. Curtis passed us the opposite way, and we wished him all the best for the cyclocross race he was heading for. On the way home Dai Triggs made it into the 'Rambler Ride concise history book' when he became the first rambler to puncture on an official RR by the 'Angel' pub. Unfortunately for Dai he contravened rule 13 (Subsection 2A) for doing this, and has been temporarily demoted from super domestique to just an ordinary rambler domestique, sorry Dai, but rules is rules! (Even if you did buy me a cup of coffee!)
Got back to the Plaza at half twelve, and 25mls in the bag.
