Hey my mum has just informed me that a cyclist was knocked off and badly hurt on a48 by crack hill ( she couldn't get home) she just caught the news and the name wad given as Simon Richardson. Sounds like he been hurt quite badly. Driver failed to stop!!!!

Hi Guys
I spoke to Amanda last night and she said Simon was Critical but stable at the Heath in Cardiff, as you can imagine its got to be tough for her having to go through this a second time and our thoughts are with them both. I'm sure I'm not not alone in wishing Simon all best for a speedy recovery and I look forward to being beaten by him in TT's in the not to distant future. Once again its a reminder of how dangerous our sport is becoming and its a concern that these discussions seem to be getting more frequent. Keep safe out there guys. |

Heard the news about Simon by a phone call to Les at the clubs committee meeting on Wednesday evening,On reflection this Thursday morning brought back painful memories of my accident last January, hope Simon makes a speedy and successful recovery, and they nail the b,,,,,,, for the accident which i understand was a hit and run ,but a man was arrested later by the police

Why are there so many idiots allowed to drive on the road? No patience, no concern for other road users and no brains. Was upset when I heard the news about Simon.
Brucy and I were riding single file the other day, and a youngster on a moped coming from behind, swerved in close to us, gave a long blast on his horn, and swerved back out -- for a laugh, and to see our reaction.Unfortunately all us cyclists have stories similar to that. Glad the police have arrested someone for the hit and run. Hope Simon recovers from this terrible incident. _______________ Born to ride (Unless it's raining  ) |

Just rang Amanda who is with Simon in the HDU at the Heath. I Managed to talk to him briefly and as he told me "Hes a bit Sore".................. In a nutshell, he's still critical but stable the doctors hope to get him into theatre later today.
