Those are all great times. No-one outside a 62 on a night when even I with a 53/13 had to force the pedals the whole way down the bank. Normally I freewheel it because I can't turn the pedals fast enough. I now know what it's like to ride at 70mph. I was only doing 35, but the wind was also doing 35. Those with disc wheels and deep sections were really fighting for control.
Well, I think I was doing 35, but my spoke magnet had rotated at some point just before the start, so my speedo was reading zero for the whole thing.
Thereafter things weren't as bad as you might have expected, with no really noticeable headwind to Aberdulais, but by the same token no really noticeable tailwind for the last nine miles either. The wind was just all over the place, but wherever it was going, it was going there quickly. _______________ Electric bikes are great. That's a darn good time by Luke there. I was looking forward to doing this last night, but my daughters birthday had to come first. I suggested that it would be OK for me to miss the evening meal, but 9 year olds can be quite forceful when they need to be !!!! LOL
Must admit, the conditions didn't make me force the issue with her ;-)
Off to sunny Portugal for a week now, see you all when I'm back _______________

Luke's ride was a faster average speed than his 21:47 over the 10/22 on the 12th of May, and that despite conditions that were far worse. I think that proves he's been slacking over the shorter distance _______________ Electric bikes are great. They give ordinary people the chance to know what it feels like to be me.

Funnily enough my pb on the 10 is at a slower speed than my pb on the 25 course as well. And year by year, it always has been. I have concluded that the 10 is not a very faster course, due to the start and finish. _______________
