The event is filling up fast ,the closing date has past , but the organiser KEVIN JONES will keep the entries over a few more days i.e. Saturday 7/5/2011so any members who wish to ride , Must GET THEIR ENTRIES TO Kevin by then, other wise you will have to pay the entries on the night fee , that is if there is any room left, we are allowed 80 riders, and we are close to that now

Kev did you get my entry i e-mailed it to you the weekend and have the hard copy and cheque to post to you Kevin Donnelly

Sorry Kev, I haven't received any email. We are up to 71 entries so there are places for only another 9 riders (I've got maths O level), so be quick!

This is our only road race this year and we have a cracking field of riders ready to do battle on the 19th of May. So far we have had volunteers for various jobs and I am very grateful to them for that. However, we need more as some regulars are away on that date. We need two more vehicles plus drivers (You get a yellow flashing light and a radio - How can you resist that?) and we need more marshals please (You get a flag and a fluorescent top - Happy days). Let's make it a successful night for the club, so please get in touch with me if you can help.
Could all the drvers who have volunteered so far get in touch with me - I need your vehicle registrations for insurance - Tud, I've got yours.

I'm happy to drive Kev and I've even got my own flashing light...

Ah yes, but have you got the 1975 Ford Gran Torino to go with it?

I'm definitely free that night, so put me on marshalling. I'll bring a book and a deckchair.

Electric bikes are great. They give ordinary people the chance to know what it feels like to be me.

Cheers Alf, but as I said in the phone call, a blue light is a no no, and the siren is definitely out. We still need 2 drivers please.

Thanks Bill. The Torino is in the scrap yard (Oops, I mean recycling centre), but if you could marshall at the cricket club area with a few other people please. Should be lively there!

I want to try something new (Behave yourselves, not that  ). I am going to put all the helpers for the 'Presidents' into a FREE raffle draw as a sort of thank you for giving up time. Now, first prize was going to be a long weekend in a luxury, self contained, Pakistani compound. Unfortunately, a party of Americans trashed the place the other day, and removed bed linen, or something like that! So the first prize will be a bottle of whisky, second prize a bottle of wine and third a box of chocolates. I still need helpers please.

Kev, Put me down as a helper. After a bit of thought, I'm not up for the race.

I didn't want the raffle to reduce the race numbers  . Only you know if you are up for it. Personally, I think you would have enjoyed it. See you at the headquarters so that you can be allocated a marshalling position Richard. Thanks. (P.S. - It's a good whisky)

Hi Kev, count me in for marshalling duties at Ynys junction. Oh!, your good lady wife hasn't answered me question, what is the past tense of swim?. Is it swam, swum, swimmed, swummed, swammed?. HELP!!!!!!!. :x
Member
Cheers Kev, Ynys junction is great. Just about to settle down for the night and now I get an English lesson from the boss, 'cos you asked that question.
The answer :- I swim (Present tense)
I swam (Past tense. E.G. - I swam in the gala)
I have swum ( Still past tense. E.G. - I have swum for my team for years)
Or, if you are from certain parts of Swansea it is 'I swimmed tidy see' (Will do for any tense)
Hope you don't win the chocolates in the raffle!!

Hi Kev, Just wondering, if you havn't had the chocolates yet, could u possibly swap the prize to a hand o'bananas, just in case I do win. Anyway back to the question, how would one congratulate someone on a good swim, would it be?, well swum or well swam, or perhaps as us swimming Dads have decided, '' well swimmed''!. Here's to spoiling another quiet night!;. Hey Davey, thats gonna be a neat trick, racing and marshalling?.
Member
Too late Kev, the chocolates have been purchased. If you win them just look pleased, and donate them to the next raffle.
One would congratulate someone on a good swim with - and I quote from an English teacher - u dun good mate! End of subject.
Kev, sarcasm is the lowest form of wit! Don't worry Davey, you might win the whisky, instead of the race.
Cheers Paul (Long time, no see). If you could marshal at the Aberdulais turn onto the slip road please, with Gambo.
Thanks Davey. If you could assist by the cricket club junction and help Alf/Wil and probably a couple of others with the final placings on the finish line. We might need someone with legal knowledge if things get tight at the end!

Thats great "stentman aka little Kev" I will indeed marshall at Aberduliias. Nice ride today by the way.

We were lucky with the weather today erspecially after Monday and Tuesday. Nice to see you out Paul.

James - Looks like Davey needs more than 'mates'. I reckon with the profession he is in, it's something a bit more spendable that he wants. Lucky we have Will with his camera, and Alf who is above bribery, also on the line.

Everything is in place for tomorrow, including the weather, so hopefully the club will run a successful event. I've been well pleased with the response from club members volunteering their help, and without these good people the event could not go ahead. The free raffle will be held on Friday night in club. This is to make sure that I have all the names as it will be busy tomorrow night.
I would prefer if marshals turn up at the HQ please to pick up their hi-viz jacket, and a flag if you are really lucky! If you can't make it to the HQ, no probs, as I will try and get around the course early.
The HQ is opening at about 1700hrs and we have at least 80 riders to sign on, so it's going to be busy.
So see you all tomorrow. 8)
