But hey ho, should be fun,(once its over). lol . hope i can do the club proud.

and good luck to the guys doing the abergavenny hilly, should be good if the weathers anything like last year.

good day for it today.

The race rolled out of abergavenny leisure centre with myself lined up agaist the best juniors in the country. the flag went down and the race started, for the next 40 km i was on the limit. got over the first king of the mountains ok. But with attacks coming from every direction and the bunch chasing them all down, it was only a matter of time before i got dropped. the second real climb of the day was the big one and after 40km of hard effort, it was the last thing i could with to see. approuching the climb the bunch was already strung out, but as the road started to go up all i could do is cling on the back,

got just under half the way up the climb and the elastic went (although there wasnt much anyway as there was a tale wind up there.)
approuching that climb there were 70 plus riders in the race, and come the top only 20. i got over it with three minites put into me in a matter of just over three km.

that wasnt the end of me though as i got a group of four working good together for the next 10km plus, we got within about 200m of the last vehicle behind the race, then the road went up again and we road to finish at a good pace, picking up other guys whod been dropped along the way.
all in all, was a good day in the saddle, and for my first ever road race, im very satified.
i dont know who won as yet, but i reckon i came about 50th,
as disco would say.... untill next time.....

Well done Curtis, great effort , as you said these are the best juniors in the country, even the rider who i said to follow Sam Harrison finished 15th and he is in the ODP squad!.Once again well done , till next time. Winner was Tom Moses Halesowen cc . Report on B.C. website
