A few of you mentioned yesterday about getting together for some pre-event training.
I propose therefore that we try and get 3 rides in before then and now, starting with the first one on Saturday 17th May.
Starting 8.30am from the plaza.
Neath-Pontardawe-Swansea Valley-Cray-Sennybridge(Cafe Stop)-Llandovery.
And then depending how we feel.
Either, Llangodog and the Blacks-GCG(Possible 2nd Cafe Stop)
or
Llandeilo- Ammanford- GCG(Possible 2nd Cafe Stop)
PS- I know this is dragon preparation, but everyone is welcome. _______________ Pain is only temporary - Quitting is for ever ........ Lance Amstrong

Well done to all out on the ride today.
We were very lucky with the weather.
Some good riding done today ready for the Dragon.
I clocked 84 miles with 5989 ft of total ascent.
First time for me up the North face of the Black Mountains.
not as steep as I thought
Looking forward to the next Dragon training ride in 2 weeks.
I have asked Martin to do the Bwlch from the Bridgend side,
Treorchy, Rhigos and whatever else.
Hope to see more of the Dragon riders next week.
p.s. I managed a 20min run when I got home
Hope my legs are better by Thursday _______________ "We can't all be heroes because somebody has to sit on the curb and clap as they go by"

Good ride Saturday, boys and girls. It looked like everyone enjoyed and the carrot cake in Creci's cafe- GCG was well worth the effort over the blacks.
Laura rode particularly well I thought, with everyone getting stuck in. Well Done!
Next trip out will be a week Saturday 31st May. I thought the route could look something like this.
Plaza 8.30am- Neath- Pontardawe- Swansea Valley- Cray- Brecon (cafe stop)
Strorey Arms- Hiwaun-Home.
The week before the event we could recky the Bwlch from the Bridgend side,or
how do you feel about riding to Llanwrtyd Wells on the Saturday- stop over and ride back Sunday.
I will need to have feedback asap if we are going to go. What do ya think? _______________ Pain is only temporary - Quitting is for ever ........ Lance Amstrong

Hello playmates(takes you back aye Alf)!, I'm off to France for a few weeks,so all you Dragon riders, if you could bang heads and organise a time and place for us all to meet before the start (it would be nice if we could do at least the first dozen miles or so as one group as opposed to fifteen groups of one). It was an enjoyable ride a week last saturday( by the way thanks to everyone for waiting for me at the top of every climb), anyhoo, try and sort something out and I'll catch up with you all when I get back.

Well, one more ride to go next Saturday before the event.
Yesterday was another good ride. Blessed with good weather as you know and predictable poor service at the cafe in Sennybridge, 6 of us got 80 plus miles in and a second cuppa at the burger van in Resolven.
Next Saturday by popular request, is another 8.30am Start from the plaza, following the normal 9.30 route over Pen y Bryn to Tondu, then;
Mini Bwlch-Nantymoel-Bwlch-Rhigos.
My thoughts are to then turn back from the top of the Rhigos back down into Treochy (Cafe Stop)
Bwlch - Afan Argoed(Cafe Stop) - Grovell home.
This should give us the confidence to enjoy following week and the 120 miles ahead. _______________ Pain is only temporary - Quitting is for ever ........ Lance Amstrong
